Q: Are you a real life operating business that pays bills and stuff?
A: Yes we are. We have a small retail shop in Horsforth (LS18) and a warehouse in Armley (LS12). We pay electric, rates and insurance just like all businesses should. We’re not dropshippers and we’re not a faceless internet business so please be assured our reputation matters to us.
Q: Can we ‘try before we buy’?
A: Yes you can. You’re more than welcome to come and have a look around the shop. We’re open 9am until 5pm on Monday’s and Tuesday’s so you don’t need an appointment between these times.
Q: I can’t make it down to the shop on a Monday or Tuesday, what can I do?
A: We have a mobile shop that tours parts of East Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Cumbria and Lancashire delivering cheer to professional kitchens so you could always arrange for a visit if you live in these parts or just drop us a line – we’re pretty flexible and will try to meet you in the shop on a date and time to suit.
Q: What methods of payment do you accept?
A: We use SAGEPay to mange our online credit card transactions. SAGEPay accepts all major credit cards. We also accept official purchase orders from all major Hotels, Restaurants, Conference Centres, Hospitals, Councils, Schools and Colleges.
Q: Do you offer trade credit accounts to businesses?
A: Yes we do. All registered businesses operating within the Hospitality, Catering and Event industries can use the option of paying by trade credit account on checkout. Please note if this is your first order we’ll be in touch within 24 hours (Monday to Friday) to confirm your details however if you have ordered from us previously and already have an established trade account in place your order will be processed immediately.
Q: Are you an authorised stockist of the knife brands you sell?
A: Yes we are. We believe it vitally important to ‘buy direct’. Henckels and Dick come from Henckels and Dick whilst Wusthof and Victorinox (including the Swibo and Wenger ranges) are purchased directly from Wusthof’s and Victorinox’s exclusive UK importers – and not a third party. We did find an element of resistance in achieving this however as Chef’s ourselves we know how significant the trust you place in your tools is.
Q: Do you accept returns?
A: Yes we do, please see our ‘Delivery & Returns’ page.
Q: Where is my order?
A: In the first instance please visit the ‘Order Tracking’ page to see how your order is progressing. A tracking number should have been issued to you on confirmation of despatch by email however if in doubt please just drop us a line. Email, phone, tweet – whichever works best for you!
Q: Do you sell waiters friends?
A: No we don’t and no we aren’t!
